I’m doing my part, too. Nursed three: 2.5, 3.5 and 3.5 before they quit; did it in public. VERY happy to see a friend’s daughter now nursing her baby in public! Had the last one at home, in a birth pool, with a Certified Professional Midwife (only way I could convince hubby to let me do it). Homeschooling in public, too. My dad thinks I’m weirder than weird, but he thinks his grandkids are terrific!
Oh: AND my oldest, now 13-year-old boy, who watched me nurse his little sisters and carry the youngest around in a wrap, thinks strollers and bottles are “warped, Mom!”
I hear you Mama! I tell everyone that I had a c-sec and then 2 VBACs, and that I breastfed my kiddos forEVER. Since my kids are now bigger (15y, 13y, & 9y) weaned and out of the familybed and doing really great I figure I’ve got a little proof that I haven’t ruined them with “too much mothering” heeheehee!
It is always hard to continue great feats out of the house when another baby comes along…I am only on #2 and learning an entirely new dynamic! I breastfed my first girl until 4+ years old and am planning on breastfeeding #2 until she is done The most opposition I have received is from my extended family (grandparents mostly) and not from strangers…weird… I also homebirthed #2 and had such a vastly different and wonderful experience from my first!
We love you Hathor/Mama Is/Heather! Love the newly designed site, pictures of your lovable boy, and toons! Happy New Year!

Breast fed exculsively for six months and still breast feeding at 2 1/2 years! It’s folks like you who help keep me going!
