Thanks for that article link, Heather in Maine! Interesting points, and I think correct ones. Only when breastfeeding is seen as the normal thing to do (rather than the “best” thing), and formula is seen as something to use when it is not possible to do the normal thing (rather than one of several options that are all fine and more or less equal), will breastfeeding increase and formula feeding decrease. So get out there and breastfeed, mamas, as if it were just as ordinary and normal and amazing as breathing!
Also, it means giving your kids the best start in life which often means acknowledging your own mom didn’t do for you. Of course in a world where waiting for the baby to be born is too inconvenient actually being the one to feed your baby in a non-selfish fashion….

Sad when compared with Sweden which as about a 93% rate in the beginning and more than 70% make it to 6 months.
