Is why I’m gonna see a midwife to finish out this pregnancy after our move next week! Doctors treat me like a bomb because of my PAST but turns out the STATE I’m going to doesn’t so the midwife doesn’t have too! Healthy living as a preventative or an I can fix anything when it happens attitude? hmm…..no brainer for me!

Funny juxtoposition in that article……. The ACOG does NOT think much has changed just better reporting. The STATE did it’s own dang study……..Not only did things change the REASONS for the maternal deaths had changed! Used to be poverty & lack of care et al, not it’s post op issues & pregnancy AFTER c-sec issues. WOW!

SCARY!! I’m glad I don’t live in California and I’m done having babies.

Just read an article on this.. This quote cracked me up: “Despite the increase in deaths, pregnancy is still safe for the vast majority of women.” Sounds almost like it could have been the women who’ve changed, not the medical industry. So silly.

And I see that induction doubles your chances of a C-section and that the hospitals loose so much revenue when they decrease inductions. Hm. Beware anything driven by money.

You think they are looking at the issue of unnecessary intervention in the whole “health care” debate? Or is it just really a “Health Insurance” debate?
