This is one of my favorite holidays, perhaps because no one has co-opted it yet, it’s just about the food, and family, and hanging around doing nothing much. I’ve got 14 people all-together and we’ll be having the traditional turkey with garlic, butter and sage, a bacon sourdough stuffing, rosemary garlic gravy and cranberry orange ginger sauce. yum. Oh and the apple pies, one just apple, the other with cranberries and walnuts. Oh man, I’m hungry just thinking about it! The other two families will be bringing veggie dishes galore, and they’re wonderful cooks so I can’t wait to taste what they’re bringing.
The following day is Buy Nothing Day:
Speaking of buying nothing, the 2010 calendar is on it’s way, I had my computer in shop this weekend, and everything was erased, seriously everything. I’m still cobbling it back together from my back-up. Yes, I have a back-up this time, but no, it didn’t restore right. As a matter of fact when I just inserted the above comic into the post I was surprised to find that each comic doesn’t exist once, but 5 times on my computer. That may be something I need a geek for.
Speaking of something I need, I’ve been receiving a lot of love mail and I miss you too.
I’m planning a come-back in the new year, so stay tuned! ;o)
xox,
Heather

We’re going through some financial limbos right now, years after you’ve drawn this & It’s helped bring a smile to my face! The more things change the more they REALLY stay the same! Hopefully this national crisis is over sooner but til then (for the holidays) I know my children will get a REAL Christmas, not a store bought one! Thank You!
Change the dresses to several different pairs of mom’s socks, throw in a midday nap and you have a day in the life of my 17 month old son!
A comeback!! A COMEBACK!! Oh I love today!
1st of all… I am spending today busily not buying a damn thing. It feels nice.
2nd.. Dude. You make calendars? Sweet. That is something I will be buying.
3rd… I’m looking forward to a triumphant return.
SO ready for your comeback
Yay!
PS: I celebrated “buy nothing day” too!
