Okay, it’s official, new computer (I know I know, I could’ve bought a new computer 2 weeks ago and solved this trouble immediately, but you live you learn, right?) and I’ve wrestled it into recognizing the scanner AND I’ve even figured out a way to finagle my photoshop to run, albeit with one arm tied behind its back…
Enough about me, there’s tons of stuff going on, and there are a bunch of comics to come, so here goes…one a day (except for Sunday, it’s your day of rest ;o) for a while…
Love,
Mama aka Heather

Bah! You and your goodies! Here I am eating canned salmon, drinking water, and avoiding the Odwalla orange juice in the fridge because my midwife told me no sugars until the UTI is dealt with and protein every two hours.
Nooooo faaaaaair!
“Ain’t that always the way?” And the kids just “help” out by pointing to what THEY want you to “Feed” the baby. As for your other commenter, my midwife said no prob but the CONDITION was that I WALK to the store to get my sweets (& coffee) I lost a LOT of weight AND indulged at the same time! WOW how fast a year has gone by!
lol gotta love those carbs!!… I know the feeling but im a cabs eater anyway… Im glad to see you back, cant wait for the next comic!!… I hope your pregancny is going well!!..I think Im almost finally over the morning sickness!(15 weeks) YAY!!! and Im feeling the lil one… ohits fun feeling those first flickers!
I hope your diet works for you. I continued to eat my normal, healthy diet (just more of it!) until the last 6 weeks of the pregnancy, when my midwife told me I should eat more carbs. I did what she said and ended up with a metabolic disorder that I still deal with four years later: my body for some weird reason stopped listening to my leptin hormone, and decided to burn nothing of what I ate, and just stored it all. I gained 10 lbs. a week for the last almost two months of pregnancy; the gaining didn’t go away with birth; and I’m lucky now to be back below the birth weight by 5 lbs.–but I’m still about 70 lbs. overweight when I was thin before. My endocrinologist says it’s because I changed my diet radically while my hormones were in a stew. And there is no medicine that will make this go away.
Be careful, ok? Can’t have my favorite cartoonist end up miserable.
Watch out for all those carbs. I’m pregnant with #5. When I want too many carbs, it means I’m deficient in Magnesium. And don’t forget to eat lots of fat with your protein!
You crave carbs, I crave salty foods! That’s why my feet looked like elephant feet by the time I was through my last pregnancy!!! Must… resist… potato chips!!!!
Wooo hooo!!! You’re back!!!
I’d been a protein fiend this pregnancy, but lately it’s turned into the “all carbs, all the time” show here, too.
Love the new cartoon. Oh,boy..I can so relate. I gained more weight with Baby#4 with that diet than I did my entire pregnancy with twins! Eeek.
At least your craving is easy to find! With my second, I craved a kind of soup that can only be found two counties away! Thank God for indulgent parents- they would bring me five or six cans at a time.
Why? Why for the love of all that’s holy is he hitting the computer with a hammer?
Hi webmaster!
Oh, girl, I can relate to that. You vow that this time you will really follow those dietary recommendations, then you only want to eat sugar. Feeling too tired to cook doesn’t help, either. I second the magnesium supplement; it really helped with my chocolate cravings. Try sweetening things with blackstrap molasses. It’s sweet AND a good source of minerals.
