I know, right? Crud, they get big fast. Thankfully, my 12 year old is a full 6 times bigger than the baby, so she still *seems* tiny. :)

  • Kind of bittersweet, isn’t it? My one and only boy, so “little” for so long, now has a voice that changes when he laughs or talks loudly. He’s starting to turn into a man (he’s 13) and I really don’t like it. But it’s better than the alternative!

It’s amazing. This happened to me last month when my then-11-month old met his 3 week old cousin. All of a sudden I found myself saying “Be gentle with the baby”. If nephew is a baby then what does that make my son?

The babies in my life became huge when my tiny guy was born three weeks ago. And yeah- it is like Kapow! All of a sudden they are big. (But all of them are able to soak my shirt with their cries. grr.) Even the 0-3 month clothing is suddenly big to me. Everything looked so tiny before he was born.

My baby is 10 months today. She is wearing 18 month sized clothing!

We too saw a smaller/younger baby and we had to tell Anaka, “soft touches, be nice” It is amazing how interested they are in each other, and just how fast they grow. When school-age happens, a few months won’t mean a thing! When she’s an adult, years will start meaning less and less…

I can’t believe it was a year ago, I was putting her in NB sized onesies and thinking, “OMG she’s swimming in these!”

So much fun too! She isn’t “luggage” as hubby says, anymore. Now she teeters around the house and tries to talk. She plays in odd ways like a kid, not a baby. So much fun!

I remember the night after second daughter was born I had to move four year old frist daughter from my bed over to her bed and I couldn’t believe how heavy she had suddenly got… or how long all those dangeling arms and legs were… Imean, OVERNIGHT!

  • Too true!! My 15 month old is wearing 2T and so tall! Just started walking a couple of days before Mother’s day :)

  • Gracie was 4 when Kairi was born in March of last year. I remember the day after Kairi was born, sitting in the hospital bed with Gracie, cuddling and looking over her hands and feet and wondering when they got to be SO big! She wasn’t my baby anymore. I’m still struggling with that 13 months later.

My favorite part about this comic is how the new mommy has crazy, hasn’t been brushed in days hair! I look like that for weeks after delivery.

My 2 yr old just met a friends new baby, he is very, very happy that he will get to be a big brother soon! My “baby” is not a baby anymore!

and then they nurse and give you that sweet milky smile and a foot in the face and you’re not so sure that they’re not still a baby…

  • Sigh. So true. My little girl is 16 months and she looks huge compared to itty bitty newborns. Makes me itch for another one! ;)

Haha, my hair still looks like that 8 months after the fact. She’s my first, and just turned 8 months yesterday. Fortunately she’s on the low end of all those silly percentiles, and my niece, who’s 20 weeks younger, is on the large end, so that feeling is a bit… delayed since they’re just about the same size. But now mine has sprouted teeth, so her little toothless grin is no more, and she wants to walk everywhere! Sooo super cute, and she’s so smart, but I want to push pause because I’m just not ready for her to keep going!
