Have you seen the latest Enfamil commercial, where its a “doctor” talking about the “health” benefits of their newest formula. Never once in the commercial do the say “breast is best” or any other reference to breastfeeding. It’s sooo aggravating!
I hope the next comic is on that horrible KFC thing… (by the way, did anyone notice that “Komen For the Cure” is also KFC??)
I mean, hey, I love KFC like most people, but I know that is supposed to (like anything bad for you) supposed to be a ONCE IN AWHILE food… not something you eat regularly…. and if you can, hey, avoid it all the time.
and to see it with pink touting the cure for breast cancer, I just find it an insult. That should be on things known to have positive health factors… yogurts, orange juice (especially the immunity defense kind), organic baby carrots, maybe kashi organic cereals, stuff like that.
Heck, why not put it on the bottles of herbs and other supplements known to (for some) help with cancer??
So glad you nailed Monsanto. They are likely one of the scariest entities that I have ever had the displeasure to know about. Yikes!! You rock the planet Mama Heather!!!
I have heard, “…brought to you today by Monsanto…” on our local NPR/PBS radio station. And all i could think of was, “ACK!! Now do I have to start boycotting the radio?!?!” (we don’t have live TV
Wow, so true. I had a book on breastfeeding given out by Enfamil. It was an EXCELLENT book. It said in there numerous time that supplementing is BAD because it decreases your milk supply. It said, do not give a bottle because it can cause nipple confusion.
Ironically enough I received a bottle and formula with that book. It is like they don’t think you are going to actually read it or something.
As for Monsanto, Did you see food Inc. on PBS? http://video.pbs.org/video/1472879887/ you can watch it till the 28th. What amazed me is that this docue Bashed Monsanto so bad and Monsanto is a supporter of the PBS Newshour. That is gutsy IMO.
SOOO glad I’m not the only one that noticed the idiocy behind the KFC/Breast Cancer thing.. Oi.. Things that make you blink.. My boyfriend came home the other day and announced that he had (just HAD to) stopped and gotten one of those KFC Double Down things. (I do not eat fast food ever.. gross). I asked him what’s next, a bucket of fried chicken skin? You hit the nail on the head with all of your observations in this strip. I’m a brand new fan, Momma, and I love what I’ve been reading! (Scared the baby off the booby I was laughing so hard last night! Gosh, I needed that!)
I ran past the Earth Day celebration on the ([U.S.] National) Mall and was handed a plastic flashlight and battery wrapped up in mini plastic bags. I really don’t think the company understood the point of the exercise.
well done mama, you summed that up very nicely!
Right on!

Aw, you nailed Dow Chemical and Similac in the same comic. I think I’m starting to love you. Is that creepy?

Totally got why you hated the bags, BTW.
