He hee hooooooooo. Okay, the other night I was told that there was going to be the biggest full moon of the year. Cool! I thought, think of all the babies that will be born! Then I went to bed and woke up with a stream of light across my face at 1 o’clock in the morning. Grrrrr. Darn neighbors with their porch light. So I went and looked…sure enough, the porch light is on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I wonder a bit while lying in bed why it’s so much brighter than most nights, but that doesn’t distract me from my silent stewing. Think of the Birds! How will they find where they are going with a light as bright as the F*^%$#@@! MOON burning all night. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I finally fell back to sleep about 4ish, and as I stumbled around the next day it dawned on me. Oh, right! That was probably the moon! heh heh. What a dork.
Then yesterday, I woke up and said my whole Martin Luther King speech. I announced that I am surely amazing that I accidentally planned to discuss the book The Watsons Go To Birmingham-1963(at the book club I started) ON Martin Luther King Day. Printed out a whole ton of Martin Luther King information to discuss at the book club. And caused all of my family to agree with me that I am surely brilliant. I didn’t let it bother me that the Thom Hartmann show didn’t mention that it was Martin Luther King day. And I only gave it a second thought when I went to the Post Office and it was actually open. huh? Because, right there on the calendar, the one I sold to so many of you, it says clearly…January 12th is Martin Luther King Day. It must surely be true, right? Ahem, actually no. Apparently MLK day is later in the month.
So, for all of you who spent yesterday wrapped in a cloud of confusion because of my calendar, I sincerely apologize. But, I’m hoping you’ll join me in looking on the bright side, MLK day is one of those days that you can celebrate twice! You didn’t have to buy presents, or send cards. Hey, at least I didn’t trick you into celebrating Christmas twice, imagine! AND if you did walk around slightly confused wondering if the world just forgot to celebrate MLK day, welcome to my world ;o) It’s a state of mind.
Please, forgive me…
xox,
Heather

hahaha… you’re awesome. and i love that you put so much energy into MLK day (no matter which date it falls on). hey, i want to send you a gift in honor of your pregnancy & as a sincere thank you for being such a great champion for worthwhile causes that too often get swept under the rug or disregarded as “no big deal” by society at large. please visit my etsy shop http://blessingway.etsy.com & select a mama bead. you can contact me thru etsy to tell me which one you want OR you can “buy” it, but not complete the payment part of the transaction. i would like to send it to you free (i’ll even pay shipping) because you’re a good person & you do so much to help weirdos like me to feel not so weird about our parenting choices.
I’m 2.5 months post partum and TOTALLY still feel this way… at least I’m not in charge of calendars. But HOW funnY!! And what a memory for your fans (of which I am becoming one!). You’re TOO funny!
that is funny. i was wondering why the post office was open on monday! i thought… “Does Maine not celebrate MLK?” LOL
that is funny!

I know how you feel… I’ve been a mess ever since the birth of my second, and she’s now nine months old! I just can’t keep everything straight anymore.
But it doesn’t matter, because tonight, for the first time, she crawled across the living room and threw her chubby little arms around my neck. I find that very little else is important after that!
heather, will you be commenting on the recent CPSIA crisis affecting small businesses in america? i am an affected business owner, as a creator of custom baby carriers (in addition to my blessingway beads). this will be a huge blow to our economy & to un- and home-schooling families across the country with limited access to textbooks, as long as they are printed before feb 10th (see all books currently in existence).
Hey, you forgot something in that risky plan- including using things that aren’t even approved for that use! My cousin went in for an induction and they used Pitocin to start her labor… and it isn’t approved for that.
