If only it were that simple (to get people on board).

I like how her cape shows up in the very end.

If retirement and health care were taken care of, oh the FREEDOM families would have!!! I work THREE part time jobs, all of them absolutely awesome, and they don’t add up to more than 20 hours in any week (some much less). When the baby comes, none of my employers will consider it the end of the world because there are several others doing this job as well that can fill in the slack until I’m replaced or come back. I really wish everyone could work like this. But the only reason I can is because my husband works his butt off at a job that will pay for our health care. If I didn’t have him, I’d need a full time job with a large employer that offered benefits and my job would own me. No wonder its hard to get health care reform. It gives power to the people.

I disagree with health care as it is now, but I don’t agree with bill that’s been proposed either. Nothing yanks your freedoms away faster (such as integrative medicine, alternative care, naturapathy, homeopathy, opting out of vaccinations) than a gov’t run system – just look at the military health care system for our country… Autism rates across the board in this country is 1 in 120 – in the military it is 1 in 80… because they are getting the “best care” between Ultrasounds and vaccinations we have some very damaged children – you aren’t educated about alternatives, you have to go looking and then you have to defend sometimes with legal documents your “right” not to have “the best care”. I just don’t think it’s as simple is everyone is trying to make it. and then we have people like John McCain trying to ban supplements (or have the ridiculously regulated, because you know 2/3 of congress have Pharmaceutical stock) – Let’s reform our Gov’t first and get all those people out of office and replace them with people who care about the people!

    righteous!
oooh – add “why not just bring the baby along to work, where it’s safe to do so”?

If health care and retirement were government run, the taxes would be so high you’d need more than two incomes to make it… it actually ends up being more expensive in the long run than keeping them private and letting people choose their own coverage and retirement plans. As it is, social security is going to be broke by the time I retire. My social security that I’m paying now is paying for people who are retiring now. Although apparently, if I were to be disabled, I’ve been working long enough to qualify for benefits, and I’d make more per month than I’m making now :P
