As an aside (I’m not sure where to stick this), my sister is in labor right now because even though she was dilated to 2.5, the baby was in a good station, she was effacing just fine, and she was doing great…her doctor induced her.

So he didn’t have to come in over the weekend.

I’m PISSED. She was clearly going to go into labor on her own, her body was working beautifully. Her doctor scared her into thinking the baby was too big and she was going to have complications (and he played on the fact that she’s very pregnant and uncomfortable) and she finally agreed. Too big? He’s guessing the baby is at 8 pounds. Since when is 8 pounds a gigantobaby? So right now, she’s in a lot of pain and after 6 hours of labor stuck on her back with IVs in her, she has progressed to a whole…3 centimeters.
